Join Tesoro High School to educate our community and protect and preserve our environment for the planet and the future.

About

We are a club at Tesoro dedicated to preserving the environment. We focus on various problems, from climate change to agriculture to monocultures and invasive plant species. We are an open, inclusive club that anyone can join or come to a meeting to see what we're all about.

Project

Our current major project is the solar panel project.  A proposition for the installation of solar panels in the Capistrano Unified School District was presented to the school board in August of the 2016-2017 school year. It was successful and a feasibility analysis for solar panels at Tesoro High School has been conducted by Arc Alternatives. We are further working with Arc Alternatives to pass a measure for solar later this year.

The easiest way to support the Tesoro Conservation Club is to come join! Attend a meeting to see what we do and spread the word.

Support

Meeting times for the 2017-18 school year are every Thursday at lunch for full club meetings. Attend a meeting to learn how to join the Tesoro Conservation Club on our various activities like hikes and trash pick-ups or one of our projects like the solar panel project.

News 3

The solar panel project presentation to the school board was a huge success! The feasibility analysis was passed and has been conducted.

The nutrition project was a major project during the 2016-2017 school year. Working in conjunction with the Capistrano Unified School District Food and Nutrition Services, we successfully provided more plant-based menu options in schools, as animal products have been shown by multiple studies, such as one by the United Nations, to be the world's main producer of greenhouse gases. The school has now added a completely plant-based menu.
